Coral Racing Ambassador, Jim Crowley, previews his five rides at Haydock on Saturday, including Anmaat in the Group 3 Rose of Lancaster Stakes.
14:25 Haydock – Helm Rock
He is a C&D winner who is drawn a little wide, but I shouldn’t have too many problems as he is a hold up horse anyway. He is 4lb lower than his last winning mark now so I think he should go well in this race.
15:00 Haydock – Anmaat
This is probably my favourite horse in training. He is an absolute superstar who has won the Prix d’Ispahan, Prix Dollar, Rose Of Lancaster Stakes and John Smith’s Cup. I believe he would have won the Coral-Eclipse at Sandown last month had he run in the race. Unfortunately, a setback ruled him out of that contest, which was a real shame. This horse is loved by everyone at Shadwell Racing. It is great to have him back. He is ready to run, and I can’t wait to ride him.
15:35 Haydock – Lake Teo
She bumped into a smart horse at Windsor last time out. The handicapper has kept her off the same mark of 74, and that looks very workable to me. Hopefully, she can take another step forward here over this extended 1m2f trip, and that will put her in the mix at the finish.
16:10 Haydock – Salamanca Lad
This horse has been in great form this summer. He is bidding to complete a four-time here, which is never an easy feat in handicap racing. He is well drawn in stall three. Daniel and Claire Kubler are very happy with him and are expecting another big run.
17:20 Haydock – Bella Taslina
She scored on her handicap debut at Doncaster last time out. She then didn’t quite see out the 1m at Newbury on her last start. Her connections have decided to drop her back down to the winning distance of 7f. I see no reason why she wouldn’t be a leading player in this field.
