Joe Tizzard Friday Blog: Windsor & Market Rasen
14:25 Windsor – Ilovethenightlife
Ilovethenightlife is a lovely, solid mare, who’s taken to fences nicely. A winner at Kempton two runs ago, I thought she ran well at Warwick last time, staying on well to take fourth in a competitive race. I think we’ll ride her more positively here, the ground will be fairly tesing and she won’t mind that. It’s a valuable pot, and I’d hope she has a chance of collecting some decent prize money.
14:35 Market Rasen – Eldorado Allen & Copperhead
I’m so pleased they’ve rescheduled this veterans’ chase one more time, so let’s hope it’s third time lucky. Both horses are in great form still, and we’ve not had any issues with them since the original Sandown race was abandoned. I also don’t have any concerns over the track, it should suit them both.
Copperhead is in the form of his life, and has won three and finished second twice on his last five runs, and was one place ahead of Eldorado Allen at Cheltenham last time. That was over 2 ½ miles, but he’s won over three miles, and gets plenty of weight from Eldorado Allen again. Very soft ground would be a slight concern, but he’s in great from at home, and should go very close.
Eldorado Allen will definitely enjoy the step back up in trip, he’s run well on his two starts this season, although life is never easy off his mark. Brendan [Powell] loves him, and there’s not much between our pair either on their homework or their racing. We certainly wouldn’t swap either of them.
