12:15 Leicester – Butch
This is one of the most exciting novice chasers in Olly Murphy’s yard. We haven’t seen him yet this season so Olly has decided to start him over 2m4f, but he will eventually step up in trip to 3m as the campaign goes on. He only has two rivals to beat here, and if he is anywhere near his best, I’ll have a great chance of starting the day with a winner.
12:45 Leicester – Northern Reel
She won well at Leicester in a bad race two runs back. I think the handicapper overdid it a little with that victory as she went up 12lb in the ratings. Off a mark of 85, this will be a tough challenge for her, but I hope she can be competitive at the very least.
13:25 Leicester – Peejaybee
He has been running consistently well this season as he has not been out of the frame in all three of his starts. Last time out at Catterick he just found one horse better than him on the day. He has been eased 1lb for that run. This is a small field, and he looks to have as good of a chance as any of them.
13:55 Leicester – Gavroche d’Allier
He looked like the winner two out at Leicester earlier this month but then just took a blow. He was entitled to do that as it was his first run after a long time off. We expect he will come on leaps and bounds for that outing. I think he has a great chance.
15:10 Leicester – Champagnesuperover
This horse needs to step up a lot on what he has been doing recently. However, at his best, he was rated as high as 137 over hurdles and running in Grade One races. We just need him to find some of his old form again as it’s been a while now since he has produced it.
