Aspire To Glory continues to show improvement with another sixth place finish at Thirsk

17 Jul 2026
Aspire To Glory continued his fourth season on the racecourse on Thursday, with a sixth placed finish in Classified company at Thirsk.

Although looking at purely his finishing positions alone might not suggest it, Aspire To Glory is continuing to show improvement at the track with every run he gets under his belt. Thursday afternoon at Thirsk was no different, as he came home to finish sixth, for the second race in a row, of the 13 runners that went to post. Aspire To Glory broke alertly from stall one before taking up his position on the coattails of the early leaders in the race, before putting down his challenge with a furlong to run. Despite his position, he was unable to make the most of it and just began to lose ground as him and five rivals began to gradually go clear from the other half of the field, coming home just over three lengths behind the winners of the race.

We caught up with Dylan Cunha after the race to see what he made of it, and what his plans are with Aspire To Glory going forward.

"It was another positive display by Aspire To Glory and we're certainly moving in the right direction with him.

I think that maybe he was just kept off the track a little bit too long and we're finally seeing him regaining some match fitness. He's shown once again today he's more than capable of going with a field of that quality and hopefully he'll continue to get better as the season goes on.

We'll keep looking at Classified races for Aspire To Glory in the next few weeks, as his mark is low enough for us to get into them, and he's shown plenty of times before that he can win races of that sort. There are a few in the book in the coming weeks at Yarmouth, Catterick and Brighton, so we'll give him a few days to recover and then have a look to find the best option for him."

We shouldn't have to wait too long to see Aspire To Glory back on the track, so check back soon to find where Dylan is planning on sending him and how you could be in attendance wherever that might be as one of his Owners for the Day!
