Cast No Shadow ruled out of Lingfield contest after picking up slight knock
This has proven to be the case here, as he banged a joint that meant he’s had to miss his trip south. It’s a far from unusual occurrence with a horse, and can happen when they’re moving or in their box, so while the timing is annoying – he was fit and well and having missed out on his Racing League targets, he was ready to run – he will be absolutely fine.
We’ve treated the swelling with bute, the most commonly used anti-inflammatory treatment for horses, and he’ll have an easy few days, but this shouldn’t hold us up for too long. We’ll give him the time needed to get over this, but as I say it’s a slight setback only, and we’ll soon have him back in action.
