Cast No Shadow could be aimed at Newcastle's Northumberland Plate Meeting for his next race
I’d love to run him to be honest, but there just aren’t any opportunities on the all-weather for him at the moment which is very frustrating. There is a race for him at Newcastle during the Northumberland Plate meeting, but even that is a month away, and I’d really like to get him on the track while he’s in such good order at home.
I wouldn’t completely rule out giving it another go on turf with him if we just thought it was worth getting a run into him, but in truth, he did suggest he was much happier on the all-weather. It’s just such a frustrating time of year for horses that want an artificial surface as there is so much racing, but very little on the all-weather, so we might just have to take our medicine and wait for the right race to come along.
He’s fit and healthy anyway, so that’s the main thing, and I’m sure once we find a suitable race, it won’t be long before he gets his head in front once again.
