WATCH: Conservative declared to run at Yarmouth on Wednesday
He's set to run at the Norfolk course for the third time in his career, having finished 3rd there in both of his previous appearances at the track when trained by Freddie & Martyn Meade.
Trainer Scott Dixon had this to say this afternoon just after declaring Conservative:
The ground is set to be ‘Good To Firm’, which should suit him. It is a galloping track with a long home straight, and that is exactly what he needs.
Ben Curtis has been booked to ride – his agent rang me up before the declaration was even made enquiring about the ride. Obviously, when a top jockey like Ben wants to be on board, that is a big boost. He has looked at the race and he clearly thinks our horse has a good chance.
It's great news for our 10 Owner for the Day competition winners who will get free racecourse entry, access to the Owners & Trainers enclosure, get the chance to meet Conservative & the Scott Dixon team, plus each get to take home a 10% share of any prize money he wins.
