Conservative edging closer to return – latest update from Scott Dixon
As I mentioned last week in my update, Conservative has responded well to the treatment we gave him for his back.
I had the physio and vet in my yard yesterday on Monday (October 30th), and they are both happy with him. I’d say we are only 2-3 weeks away now from seeing him on the track.
Conservative, like all my horses at the moment, remains at my Wolverhampton yard. This will remain the case for a few weeks yet, until the drying up process at Southwell is completed.
We have still been able to work Conservative at Wolverhampton as we would at Southwell. It has been a real challenge for my staff, as many of them have had to travel three hours to get here, but everybody has clubbed together, as you need to do in these circumstances.
I am very happy with the last two pieces of work Conservative has done. They were what I’d describe at 80% pace. If he comes through his next couple of pieces of work with a satisfactory performance, I am going to have a look through the fixtures and find something suitable for his comeback run.
