Conservative set to make his hurdling debut this week – latest update from Joe Tizzard
You never know until they’re asked to do it on the track, but the signs at home are that he’s really enjoying it, and hopefully he can translate that to a race situation.
Both Brendan [Powell] and Harry [Kimber] have schooled him, and both have been really happy with him. We’ll enter him at Hereford on Friday, in a two mile maiden hurdle, and Fontwell on Sunday, over two miles and three furlongs, and then decide where to go when we see the entries.

We’ll probably need to run him three times over hurdles to get him a handicap mark, but if he enjoys hurdling, it could also freshen him up for more flat racing. Horses are funny creatures and if they’re happy, it can make a difference whether it’s jumping or flat.
