Rebecca Menzies gives Lady Mendoza update after Musselburgh gets abandoned
The positive news, however, is that we've already heard from Rebecca who has informed us that she has a couple of other race options lined up which come as soon as next week.
"We will enter her for Ayr on Thursday 22nd December as there’s a race there for her, and she will also have entries at Wetherby and Newcastle on Boxing Day. The BHA may even schedule a couple of extra meetings in the next week so we'll look at those too.
We really do want to find the best opportunity for Lady Mendoza which does mean being flexible and making the final decision quite close to the race. We'll be sure to keep all of you informed of our plans as we go.
It’s obviously been a frustrating few days for many with racing being cancelled all over the place, but luckily for us, we have some excellent all-weather gallops, meaning none of our horses have missed any work or preparation. It has dropped to -6 here at times, so plenty of layers have been required, but we have an excellent team here, and plenty of state-of-the-art machinery that has enabled us to keep the gallops in good order and keep the horses cantering away.
Hopefully temperatures rise enough to avoid any more postponements, and we’ll have plenty to look forward to over the coming weeks.
I truly couldn’t be happier with her, she’s settled in here brilliantly, and she’s one of a number of horses I’m really looking forward to running over the festive period."
