Ever consistent Lady Mendoza puts in another solid performance at Perth to finish fourth
Lady Mendoza started the race in fine form, clearing her obstacles well and running with the leading group of three/four horses for much of the early stages of the race. She continued to run at the front of the field as the race went on, eventually losing second position during the run towards home.
From there, our mare was in a three-way battle for third position, and she narrowly missed out on the third step on the podium to Reagrove Lord who just held her off on the run to the line.
Nathan Moscrop took the reins once again, for the seventh time in her career on the racecourse, and he was pleased with her performance given the break that she had between runs.

It was a memorable day for Lady Mendoza's lucky Owners for the Day, who were able to access the parade ring, the owners and trainers lounge and last but not least, they took home a share of Lady Mendoza's winnings for finishing fourth place, which amounted to £456.
Post-Race Update from Rebecca Menzies
"Lady Mendoza has eaten up after her run at Perth yesterday. She picked up a cut on one of her legs, but it is nothing serious. It looks worse than it is as it’s a puncture wound. She has been bandaged up and she should be fine in a few days.
In terms of the run, I don’t think she enjoyed being hassled at Perth. There were horses around her all the time. When she was left alone, she was fine.
It may be time to go chasing with her now. There are much smaller fields over fences. I think she would excel from the front of the field, as it will give her a little more to think about. I just hope we get to run her more regularly now on ground that she will enjoy."
