We did have a few races in mind for Lady Mendoza, one at Newcastle on Saturday, and another at Kelso on Monday, but we’ve decided to sidestep them both.

They’ve had a lot of rain at Newcastle, so conditions won’t be suitable for her there, and the forecast at Kelso was a bit mixed, so we just thought we’d wait another week or so. I’ll have a good look through the programme book and pick out a few suitable targets for her over the coming weeks.

Our head girl Alex has been riding her out as she gets a really good tune out of her, and she’s been really pleasing us with her work of late.

We’ve been giving her the VIP treatment and turning her out in the field without her rug on now it’s a bit warmer, and she looks absolutely fantastic in her coat. You can tell she’s a real spring horse as she really is coming to herself, so I’m really looking forward to running her as soon as we can.

I’m really looking forward to welcoming the competition winners to Howe Hills for our stable visit on Wednesday 19th April, and I can’t wait for you all to meet our superstar that is Lady Mendoza.
