Lady Mendoza has been bouncing at home, she’s been in really great form, and we couldn’t be happier with her.

She’s looking really well in her coat at the moment, and she seems much happier with a bit of sun on her back, so we feel she’s coming into form at the right time.

Alex, our head girl, has been riding her every day, and they get on really well, so it’s great when we can build those relationships with the horses at home.

We still very much have the race at Newcastle on the 16th May on our agenda, so we’ll work backwards from that and get her as fit as we possibly can over the next few weeks.

We’re planning to take her for an away day at Chris Grant’s later this week where she’ll work on the big uphill gallop over seven furlongs, so that should tighten her up nicely. We’ll then probably look to get another trip down to Redcar beach so she can have a good splash in the sea, as that usually freshens her up and she definitely enjoys the change of scenery.

I’ll keep everybody updated if any plans change, but all being well I look forward to seeing the owners for the day at Newcastle in a few weeks’ time!
