WATCH: Hit the treadmill and spa with our John Quinn-trained two-year-old
Well, you came to the right place, as our unnamed two-year-old trained by John Quinn was recently put through exactly that, and we were sent some video footage by Sean Quinn, John's son and assistant trainer, where he discusses in the background about the full use and benefits of each.
The purpose of working on the treadmill as opposed to the gallops is to allow the horse to build up stamina without the added weight of a rider. This alleviates the pressure on the horse's joints, and John Quinn had noticed that the gelding had some discomfort in his front legs after the Breeze-Up sale where he was purchased.
He has also been spending time in the spa box, and this helps to tighten the joints in the horse's legs and with overall recovery which will help him in his preparations for his debut come September time.
Watch to find out more.
